Pastel is an amazing technique used by a lots of famous artists since centuries. My pastels portraits are made with soft pastels, based on two different supports : Pastelcard, and velours paper. 

Even so the creation process is the same on each paper, pastecard require more time on the creation process, whish justify a price a bit higher. Anyways, the size is still the same : 50x65 cm. Note that I can work with slightly smaller sizes, but it remains to my appreciation (The price won't be affected by that).

- The Pastel card is a rigid support (acid free card pure wood, coated with a micro fiber layer). This support is more expensive, more noble, and less fragile than velours paper. The achievement of a pastel portrait on pastel card is also made longer, which essentially justifies the difference in price.

- The Velours paper is a sheet of paper (260 g /m²) coated with a very smooth fiber layer. A portrait made with pastels on velours paper is rolled, just like regular drawing paper, and send in a card tube. Velours paper effectively allows for very good results. This technique gives a quicker time for the creation process.
